Swift Skiff SUPs
A natural fit to our Swift Skiff series is this pair of touring and fishing stand-up paddle boards. The concept was developed for a customer who had a need for a good all-round board that can be customized to represent his company and allow them a platform to mount all the necessary fishing gear.
From our first discussions, it was clear this board was going to be more boat-like than surf board turned paddle board. A fine entry bow to slice through chop and a chine to help keep the spray down were number one on the priority list. A traditional aesthetic was created with a sweeping sheer, highly radiused hull to deck, and a high, plumb bow. Lightweight construction was achieved by numerous frames and stringers covered in a skin of thin plywood and fiberglass. The completely finished prototype with decorative fabric, paint, and varnish weighed 32.5 lbs.
We are in the process of developing an easy to use kick-up fin for maneuvering in tight spaces. That design will be included in the plans.

If you are looking for a completely custom board for yourself or as a gift, we would be happy to work with you to create a board that fits your style. Using our computer rendering software, we can help design the paint scheme, logos, artwork, and decorative fabrics. A completely finished board built by CYD will cost approximately $2500 with an additional $200 for each extra paint color. Send us an email to discuss this exciting opportunity.
The paddle boards can also be built from plans or a plywood parts kit. This is by far the easiest of our boats to build. Construction is straight forward, requires only 1-3 hours of time for most of the steps, and is extremely therapeutic and rewarding to build. The plans include full length templates for the hull panels and all of the frames and stringers. The kit is cut from a CNC router so all parts fit precisely. We can ship kits to anywhere in the US or, to save shipping costs, we can recommend or work with you to find a local shop to cut the parts. Make sure to email us with any questions before purchasing the kit option.
